Ursula Hurst is a children’s book illustrator and community artist living and working in Hilton, Cumbria. She has illustrated for many wonderful authors around the country and loves the challenge of creating artwork to draw in reluctant readers. In 2020 her collaboration with author Nigel Womack, ‘Bea’, was awarded the People’s Book Prize for best children’s book.
She is passionate about creating art with groups of people and has been the lead artist in a wide range of community art projects in Lancashire and Cumbria. In 2021 her Arts Council funded wish flag project, which saw hundreds of beautiful flags decorating a village park, lead to her first book, Drawing Hope.
