Robert Brindley R.S.M.A.
Born in Burton on Trent, Robert moved to Scotby from Whitby, in January 2019 and has been a professional painter since 1992.
Working in Watercolour, Oil, and Pastel, Robert's inspiration is the challenge of capturing light and atmosphere in a contemporary impressionistic style.
He paints, mainly landscape and coastal scenery both in the UK and his trips abroad. He has a special affection for Venice visiting the city every year.
In 1997 Robert was elected a member Royal Society of Marine Artists and is the current Archivist for the Society.
Robert has written three instructional books on how to paint, published by Crowood Press. He also has four DVDs on how to paint in watercolours and oils, produced by Townhouse Films. He now runs a weekly watercolour class at Scotby village hall and demonstrates for painting groups and art societies throughout Cumbria.
